Loads of green on the graphic this week shows how Bristol & West has been progressing though the season. As is becoming customary, we headline the week with victories for our Men's and Women's 1st teams - who both sit one point from top spot. Inspired by an awesome win for the men's 4s before them, the victory of the day came courtesy of our Women's 3s, who took on the inbeaten table toppers and fought to a 4-3 victory to put themselves in the running for promotion. Catch up on all of the action below.
The Stats
Player of the week: Tom Bryant
Not as many points as Mrs Bryant last week but Tom Bryant takes it this week after a 9-1 victory over Cheltenham
Men's 1st Team
Bristol & West 1 [9-1] Cheltenham 2
Fresh from being defeated by our mixed XI last Sunday, Cheltenham had an even tougher task this week a they were welcomed to Mangotsfield to face our men's first team. Unfortunately for the away side, our 1s are flying this season and their form wasn't to be broken this week. Nine goals from six goal scorers were slotted past the Gloucestershire outfit with only one in reply. Just one point behind them, our 1s lads face the league leaders University of Bristol this Saturday with both teams looking to finish the year on top.

Men's 2nd Team
Cardiff Uni 2 [4-2] Bristol & West 2
A tricky fixture for the Men's 2s as they made the always difficult trip away to play Cardiff Uni. Despite having spells on top, the 2s failed to get into their rhythm and gave away too many cheap goals.

Assists: Todd & Neil
MOM: Doug
Women's 2nd Team
Bristol & West Jaspers 2 [1-5] Thornbury 1
2s came away with a grin today even though we didn’t win!! We lost 5-1 but rumour has it that we were Thornbury’s toughest competition yet 💪 Our whole team played a super impressive game and put up an amazing fight across the pitch 🌟

The 3s have seen mixed fortunes this season, but having picked up a 3rd win of the season, they've chiselled themselves a firm foothold in tough league, climbing to mid-table.

Women's 4th Team
Old Bristolians 5 [6-2] Bristol & West Jaspers 4
The 4s played a very rainy game against Old Bs, losing 6-2.
Without a keeper and having borrowed 3 players from the opposition, there was definitely some great hockey played and as much as I hate to say it, the score definitely didn’t reflect the game! 😅
Goals: Emma & Steph 🥅
POTM: Steph 🏅
Men's 5th Team

A good win and a great day for the youngsters who impressed again.
Great to have Stewart Fraser back on the pitch, and we also welcomed David Margetts, Leo’s dad, who’s returning to the game after a long absence. Glad you rocked up in kit today David!
